Favorite Blogs: Audrey Roloff and Sadie Robertson

Some of my favorite blogs revolve around people from show that I use to watch while growing up. These two women are people that I look up to and feel as if I have similar values and can relate to situations like theirs.

The first blog is by Audrey Roloff from the show “Little People, Big World”. Her blog is called “Auj Poj”.  She blogs about anything from her family, to faith, fitness, marriage, fashion, and even travel.

  • Strengths:
    • has many different types of blogs with lots of information
    • contains photos
    • very inspirational
    • displays everyday life
  • Weaknesses:
    • a lot is going on, especially because the sight is more than just a blog (designated for other usage as well)
    • somewhat confusing to navigate

Some of the best practices that make this blog successful are that the content is focused, she stands by the content, and it is updated frequently. Overall, I love Audrey as a person and I think that she does a great job at blogging, especially because I have no idea how to exactly blog. When it comes to the weaknesses, I think it can easily be changed. I think that everyone has a preference and when it comes to just a blog, it might be difficult for others to see it as something else. I do not think that the other usage can just disappear, it can just be easier to navigate in order for it to be less confusing. I think the stories under each blog just need to be more defined and it would become easier.

The second blog is by Sadie Roberson from the show “Duck Dynasty”. Her blog is called “Live Original”. She blogs about anything from friendship, to love, faith, encouragement, purpose, and vision.

  • Strengths:
    • has many different types of blogs with lot of information
    • contains photos
    • comments can be left
    • for all generations
    • contains different stories,  not just ones from Sadie
  • Weaknesses:
    • very boring to look at….goes paragraph by paragraph
    • very “average” type of blog, nothing completely stands out/catches the eye

Some of the best practices that make this blog successful are comments are invited, content is focused, and Sadie stands by the content. Sadie is a great blogger, especially for teen girls who are around her age. It is easy for them to relate to her because of the age similarity and what all they have been through or are currently going through. I think her blog is great as well, but some improvements wouldn’t hurt it. In order to make it more interesting to read I do not think it would hurt to include some bullet points in order to break up the usage of paragraphs. Also, for all the great work that she has done, I know it would be easy for her to make her blog standout. Whether that be some type of promotion for her blog, or a design/graphic that makes her blog completely original.

I do not have my own blog, so insights into the platform, experiences, and best practices cannot be shared.
